THE ORIGINS OF PILATES:
Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century as a way to overcome his own physical challenges. Originally called Contrology, his method focused on intentional, precise movement to build strength, flexibility, and mind-body connection.
Over time, this innovative approach to movement was renamed Pilates and is now practiced around the world as an effective method for full-body conditioning and mental focus.

Reformer Pilates uses a spring-loaded apparatus that provides adjustable resistance to suit all fitness levels and body types. The springs can be set to offer more challenge or additional support, helping you move with greater control and confidence.

Studio Pilates
Studio Pilates includes the reformer along with other traditional Pilates apparatuses like the ladder barrel, cadillac/trapeze table, and mat work with small props. Each piece of equipment offers a unique set of movements designed to build strength, flexibility, and body awareness.
Available options:
• Private sessions in Ellerslie/Mt Wellington and Silverdale
• Pilates Cross-Trainer classes in Silverdale - a semi-private class, using multiple studio apparatuses.

Mat Pilates focuses on core strength, flexibility, and mindful movement using your own bodyweight. Props are available to provide support or increase intensity as needed. We tailor every session to your individual goals and abilities, helping you move better, feel stronger, and progress confidently.

PILATES REFORMER - Ellerslie
This class teaches Pilates repertoire on the reformer, a spring loaded apparatus, which utilizes varying resistances to support or challenge an exercise.
Feel seen in our reformer classes. They are offered in an intimate setting, with only 2 clients with one instructor, at a time. It is suitable for anyone and exercises may be modified to suit an individual's ability, where necessary.
